The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution requires government to remain neutral in matters of religion. That means government must avoid showing a preference for one religion over another, or for religion over non-religion. Have you witnessed a violation of this law? Let us know about it. Part of WCAF’s mission is to work to preserve and promote the separation of church and state on the western slope. Were you instructed to pray at a City Council meeting? Did you see a poster of Jesus in your child’s public school? Was your child forced to watch a Christian Nativity play at school despite asking to opt out? Does your county hold prayer services on public land before the county fair, and then let prayer attendees into the fair for free? These are examples of church/state violations that have actually happened on the western slope. If you see one, please tell us about it using the following form or by emailing us directly at WesternColoradoAtheists@Yahoo.com or send an email to that address asking us to provide you with a phone number where you can text information and photos. We will protect your identity and keep your report strictly anonymous.
